Day 12: GO FOR IT!

“There could never be a more beautiful you. Don’t buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through. You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do. So there could never be a more beautiful you.”

Colossians 1:15- we look at this Son & see God’s original purpose in everything created.

Of all creation, only humans are made “in God’s image.” All people, not only believers, posses part of the image of God, but this image is incomplete due to the sins of the world. We will never be and can never come close to being God or even “a god.” Every time we try and control our own circumstances, we are trying to become our own god.

Ephesians 4:22- “But that's no life for you. You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It's rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.”

God’s goal for your life is NOT comfort, but character development. Rick Warren shares in A Purpose Driven Life, “Every time you forget that character is one of God’s purposes for your life, you will become frustrated by circumstances!”

Life is NOT all about me… its not all about you. I exist, you exist for God’s purposes!

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

When we choose to Obey the Lord, then we will unlock His power. God waits for you to act before he can begin his work through you! Don’t wait to feel powerful or confident, trust Him and “GO FOR IT!”

During the past few weeks, I have had a lot on my mind. I am struggling to make a really big decision…. I feel like there have been 100000 signs pointing in 1000000 different directions. I am not sure which way to go. After doing my devotional this morning a huge part of me says GO FOR IT! But I am waiting for a peace from the Lord, that this is his guidance. My challenge to you today is to allow God to give you the courage to do something radical and trust him, but make sure you are following his will. Do not be rash, but grab on to the Lord for the right answers. The right thing isn’t always the easiest, but in order to know what the right thing is, we MUST LISTEN.

For those of you who are my friends, I am asking that you keep me in your prayers during the next few days as I am looking to God for wisdom. This has been my prayer for the past month, “Lord, make my desires come from you. I want what you want for my life. I am choosing to serve you and go/do/be where, what, & who you want me to be. Give me your wisdom and strength!”
